Another Road Trip

I'm putting together a road trip for this year. While there are still 28 National Parks I haven't seen, most of them in the Southwest, I decided to take a shorter trip this year. It's a 10-day stint around Lakes Huron, Superior, and Michigan. The big draws this trip are Bruce Peninsula National Park (Canada) and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (Michigan). The trip does include a bit of a side-trip up to Voyageurs National Park, simply because it's close and I'm unlikely to get up that way again any time soon.

The timing is based on the holiday. I couldn't get a campsite at BPNP for the three weeks preceding the Monday of Labor Day, which is also a Canadian holiday. However, plenty of sites open up on that Monday so that's the day I'll arrive there. I'll work my way up though New York on the way. Early September is certainly better in terms of crowds, but this far north there is a risk of colder weather than I am prepared for. We will see how it goes.
