Aspen, CO
We got to bed a little late last night taking sunset pictures, but we still got up around 5:30 to take some morning shots. We headed back to our scouted overlook at Cedar Point and took a few shots. We also stopped at a few more overlooks afterward.
We decided to hike the Warner Nature Trail which is about 1.5 miles at the end of the canyon. We did get to see a yellow tanager but he didn't stop long enough for a good photograph. The sun's rays poked over the rim of the canyon along the route.
Aferwards we headed back to camp and packed up. What is the opposite of pitching a tent? Unpitching? Depitching? Catching? Well, whatever, we decamped and headed out. Along the way we did stop at some scenic views along the highway. They are everywhere in Colorado.
We arrived in Aspen around 3:30 and, after checking in and showers, we went to walk the town. It didn't take long as it's only a few blocks in each direction. It's a nice little town, but prices are quite high so be prepared. Most shops closed at 5:00 PM so there wasn't much to do other than eat. There were various music students playing in the evening for entertainment.
