Graveyard or Cemetery?

WI, MN, ND

We started the day in southern Wisconsin at about 6:30 and we were on the road by 7:30 enjoying the light traffic at that hour. Our main break for the day was about 2.5 hours later where we stopped at the Fiberglass Animal, Shape, and Trademark (FAST) company. They make fiberglass figures that you see outside of restaurants, in parks, and so froth. Some looked like they might be used for those quarter machines outside of the grocery store that let me pretend I'm driving a race car.

To answer the obvious question, we stopped there to see the FAST fiberglass mold graveyard. When they have completed producing the item for the customer, they put the mold in the back lot in case there's another order. It's kind of a garden of statues, although the statues are a bit rougher and disorganized and the grass is a bit higher than at your villa. Nevertheless, it has its own charm.

Online this is known as the mold graveyard, but a fun fact is that the difference between a graveyard and a cemetery is that a graveyard is next to a church. Is the FAST factory the fiberglass equivalent of a church, or should this be a mold cemetery? I don't know the answer. But if you want to call to find the hours, best to use a fiberglass Ouija board.

After this fun detour we continued on to Jamestown ND. Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota are all wonderful to drive though; the scenery is bucolic, the flowers are blooming, and the roads are mostly in very good shape (although there is some construction). Minnesota has particularly nice rest areas, often with a lake view. There was the usual afternoon thunderstorm, and in Minnesota ("The land of 10,000 lakes") we passed the Land o' Lakes headquarters. They have farms working with them out in the Elverson area too. We also counted the lakes that we passed but only got up to a couple dozen. Apparently they don't keep all 10,000 lined up along the I-94 corridor. I will need to protest at the tourist information center.
